Hello, snippeteers. Welcome back to rainbow snippets (6 sentences of LGBTQ+ fiction) and sexy snippets (7 sentences from their work-in-progress or published stories).

Enjoy the next snippet from my story Live or Die which will appear in the Lawless Anthology: Manlove Edition to be published by Evernight Publishing and coming in November 17, 2017.

For those new to this story, here's a recap. Alexei and Zakhar were old friends until Zakhar went away ten years ago. Now he's back but not exactly getting a warm welcome from Alexei.
You can catch up with the story from the opening scene.

In last week's snippet we got into Alexei's POV and saw him remembering how he'd met Zakhar as a kid. He'd invited the younger Zak to sit at the table with him against the wishes of the other teens at the table.
I've skipped a little from last week's scene to get to this snippet as we get a glimpse into why Alexei is angry at Zakhar. It's a little longer for completion. Enjoy.

After that evening in the dining hall, the boy that he’d been had attached himself to me. Not that I’d complained.
I’d adopted him as a kid brother, warned the other children from harassing him, and taught him how to defend himself. With the years of training, his baby fat had eventually turned to the solid muscle of youth.
Staring at the chunk of a man he’d become, it hit me.
I’d saved him.
I’d made him.
And how did he reward me?
By abandoning and betraying me.
