Hello, snippeteers. Welcome back to rainbow snippets (6 sentences of LGBTQ+ fiction) and sexy snippets (7 sentences from their work-in-progress or published stories).
For those new to this story, here's a recap. Alexei and Zakhar were old friends until Zakhar went away ten years ago. Now he's back but not exactly getting a warm welcome from Alexei.
You can catch up with the story from the opening scene.
This follows on from Snippet 5 and we're still in Zakhar's POV.
I hope you'll pardon it being a little longer (to keep the context) this week.
My grip on the padded arms on the chair tightened as I got pissed off by his attitude. The twitch in my temporal vein transformed into full blown constant ticking, a time bomb waiting to explode.
What if I’d been away for so long? Did I deserve this level of disrespect? What the hell was he so goddamned angry about, anyway?
“Perhaps you’re afraid.” I was perfectly capable of goading him in return.
“Watch your tongue!” His head whipped up as he sat up, back ramrod straight. His glare had enough voltage to fry a moose.
