Hello, snippeteers. Welcome back to rainbow snippets (6 sentences of LGBTQ+ fiction) and sexy snippets (7 sentences from their work-in-progress or published stories).
For those new to this story, here's a recap. Alexei and Zakhar were old friends until Zakhar went away ten years ago. Now he's back but not exactly getting a warm welcome from Alexei.
You can catch up with the story from the opening scene.
This follows on from Snippet 3 and we're still in Zakhar's POV.
Oh, the story has a new title--Live or Die.
“You disappear for ten years. No contact. Now you turn up out of the blue.” He placed both palms on the desk, fingers fanned out. “The only reason you even made it up here is because I wanted to look you in the eyeballs and confirm for myself that it was really you.”
He had a point. I expected him to be shocked at seeing me again after so long. Perhaps I could take advantage.
“Now that you have me eyeball to eyeball, don’t you want to know why I’m here after all this time?”
