Hello, good people. Today, I'm joining the snippeteers at rainbow snippets (6 sentences of LGBTQ+ fiction) and sexy snippets (7 sentences from their work-in-progress or published stories).
Today, I'm sharing from my WIP, a paranormal M/M romance, with working title of Royal.
This is the story I originally wrote for an anthology. The publisher liked it but wanted a 'revise and resubmit' in view of publishing it as a standalone title and the first in a PNR series.
I haven't been able to work on it for a while but I'll be doing revisions over the next few weeks. Hopefully I can resubmit it by the end of the summer.
Let me refresh you memory.
Blake's car hits Jahiem (in wolf form) on a dark, rainy night on a country road. When Jaheim remains unconscious, Blake takes him home.
This snippet is from the next morning and in Jaheim's POV.
This had to be an erotic dream because a hot male body lay beside me in bed. Warm skin under my cheek, springy short hairs beneath my fingers and a woodsy, earthy scent that made me want to absorb his wonderful spice into my very soul as he buried himself in me.
Nuzzling close, I rubbed my body against his, wanting to mark myself with his fragrance as well as mark him as mine. This reckless behaviour was new to me. My former lovers could be counted in less than one hand. None of them had provoked this response from me.
Unable to stop the feverish lust flaring in my veins, my palm wrapped around velvety hard flesh.
“Easy, jamil,” a deep, sensual voice washed over me.
Oh, if you're confused, Jamil is a pet name. And before this point, Blake hasn't actually spoken with Jaheim so doesn't know his name.
